Gradient

  • This section covers gradient (slope) on the track. to fill this page you will need to know the maximum gradient of the track, and the length of section that gradient is applied too.

  • Does the maximum gradient fall in the range of 15 - 20 degrees?

  • What is the total length of the section

Width

  • his section covers the width of the path, to complete this you will need to know the greatest & smallest width, and the length of the section of track at reduced width.

  • What is the Greatest measured width?

  • What is the narrowest measured width of the path?

  • What is the total length of the entire narrowed section,

  • Is the narrowed path section on a high gradient area?

  • Are bays for passing present with a minimum width of 0.6 meters?

Steps

  • This section covers steps, you will need to count each step in a staircase, measure the highest step, and the step with the shortest landing.

  • Does this Track have steps/ staircase?

  • is the highest Riser height greater than 225 mm

  • Is the tread length (run) less than 300mm?

  • How many steps are in this structure?

  • Does this staircase have a 1m flat landing approximately 4m vertically from the base of the stairs?

  • Was there another staircase to audit?

Surface

  • this section covers the condition of the surface of the track

  • Is the track surface even, well formed & made of durable materials?

  • What percentage of the total track consists of short muddied sections?

Furniture

  • This section only applies to furniture assets associated on the track being inspected. You may be asked for evidence of poor quality assets.

  • Is there furniture present?

  • How many seats are present?

  • How many tables are present?

  • Do any of these assets fall below

Structures

  • Structures include handrails, bridges and shelters. Staircases & steps are not included in this section

  • Are there structures present on this track?

  • What type of structure does this track have?

  • Is there a hazard to the user present such as height or gradient?

  • What is the narrowest width of the structures?

  • Do any of these structures fall into what would be classified as "poor" condition?

Vegetation

  • This section relates to vegetation clearance around the track for user safety & experience. This does not include "pest weeds". Narrowed sections or reduced heights are acceptable when caused by significant tree trunks or branches providing they are of low risk to user safety.
