  • Is there a signing in book available?

  • Is there a suitable Traffic Management Plan system in place and is it documented?

  • Have Exits and Escape Routes clear of any obstructions and that they lead to a safe place?

  • Have the location and condition of fire extinguishers been checked?

  • First aid box - ensure its contents are complete, in date and replenish as required

  • Accident Book - has this been checked and any accidents / incidents reported to head office?

  • Are PPE and RPE issue records being maintained?

  • Do you have sufficient stocks of PPE and RPE? (Including visitor)

  • Have you walked the perimeter of the site, ensuring all fencing is secure and adequate signage displayed?

  • Is scaffolding in a good condition and displaying a valid inspection certificate (within last 7 days)?

  • Are all leads, sockets and electrical equipment in good condition, PAT tested with any defective equipment quarantined or removed from site?

  • Is all lifting equipment in good condition and have you checked that you have access to its valid and relevant lifting certificate?

  • Have plant and machine defect reports been completed by the machine operators? Have machine hours been completed on the same form?

  • Have all defect reports been uploaded / saved onto Dropbox for this week? (Note that this is over and above, reporting immediately any material defect)

  • If flame cutting is being carried out - has a valid permit been issued?

  • Flame cutting equipment - has a check been carried out of the condition of all hoses, leads, regulators etc

  • Has the welfare and toilet facilities been cleaned and serviced?

  • Ensuring that at all times, waste is removed / placed into designated skips, access and egress to work areas is maintained and safe working practices are being adopted, do you now consider the site to be in a safe condition to allow works to continue
