Weekly Pool Maintenance

  • Check the walls and the lining of the pool for any tears, cracks, or other signs of wear or damage. Repair if necessary.

  • Clean tiles and walls of the pool and clear all algae that have built up.

  • Vacuum your pool to remove any dirt and debris that has settled at the bottom, especially after scrubbing.

  • Shock your pool to oxidize contaminants and prevent algae growth.

  • Make sure the water level is high enough and that the pump is functioning correctly.

  • Check chlorine, pH, and total alkalinity levels and ensure they stay at the proper amount.

  • Get rid of chloramines in the water with super chlorination.

  • Treat your pool with algaecides.

  • Use an enzyme product to clean the surface of any organic deposits.

  • Check the psi reading on your filter gauge to ensure it has a normal reading of 8-15 psi.

  • Check the pool return jets are working at full pressure and angled down at 45 degrees to ensure optimal circulation.

  • Check for leaks and ensure that filter pressure is not too high.

  • Check all the steps, ladders, handrails, and other safety equipment in the pool to ensure they are in full working order.

  • Clean the pool deck and surrounding surfaces thoroughly with a hose or power washer.
