  • Weather conditions:

  • Work Activity:

  • Are works occurring at and within a wetland with all relevant permits/approvals in place?

  • Is a fauna spotter present during all stages of melon hole disturbance, particularly dewatering of melon holes to allow transfer and relocation of fauna?

  • During dewatering activities, is the pump adequately screened with appropriate mesh sizing to prevent aquatic fauna from being sucked up?

  • Is any water present within the melon holes being managed appropriately? e.g., is clean water from a melon hole being re-salvaged and transferred to an adjacent melon hole (subject to water quality testing to confirm uniformity if applicable), otherwise, sediment-laden water being transferred to land through controls?

  • Are works occurring with minimal disturbance to the area?

  • Are there adequate silt, erosion and drainage controls (i.e., booms and silt socks, etc.) in place within the area during the works to minimize turbidity?

  • Is normal rehabilitation reinstatement occurring plus topsoil crown 200mm high and 2m wide being installed? Soil from the bottom of melon holes should not be used as topsoil?
