  • Correct type of barricade selected for hazards identified in accordance with the JobSTART / SWMS?

  • Note: Coloured warning tape, rope, cones or flasher units alone do not serve as a physical barrier and shall only be used as a temporary measure. Flagging must have information tag containing reason for flagging and name of contact point)

  • Permanent / semi-permanent metal perimeter fencing of at least minimum 2.0m height installed around work site to prevent unauthorised persons entering the work site

  • Barricaded area has Hazard Board on display with current information and genaral warning signage clearly visible

  • Where a person is at risk of falling, physical edge protection is installed in accordance with the JobSTART

  • Waterfill barriers for segregating areas not less than 800mm in height and interconnected

  • Cone barriers not less than 800mm in height and interconnected with warning signage clearly visible

  • Barricading encompass the entire potentially affected area of the hazard and take into account the possible deflection of an object from a structure below if it falls

  • Barricading is constructed so that it is capable of remaining anchored in position during poor weather

  • Access ways clearly marked to avoid personnel walking into hazardous areas

  • All signs and barricades kept clean and maintained in a good condition and well illuminated

  • Barricaded areas have designated points of entry

  • Procedure in place for any persons entering the barricaded area to sign on to JobSTART
