Steps To The Perfect Espresso

The Grind

  • Does Barista grind coffee to order so that the coffee is at its freshest?

  • Are the coffee beans stored correctly in bag/ container?

  • Does the coffee grind feel correct (like talcum powder)?

  • Is the Hopper clean and filled with fresh beans?

Dose

  • Does Barista use a clean, dry portafilter?

  • Do they use correct portafilter and basket for espresso?

  • Do they use correct dose of coffee for portafilter size and level<br>off?

Tamp

  • Does Barista tamp coffee once to level then using ‘ears’<br>tap-tap against soft part of the grinder?

  • Does Barista repeat tamp before polishing?

  • Does Barista apply correct pressure, tamping, polishing<br>and always ’saving seals’?

Brew

  • Does Barista flush groupheads before brewing?

  • Do they attach portafilter to grouphead correctly and press<br>required button (single/ double) within 5 seconds?
