  • Have the correct bricks been delivered?

  • Is the sisalation wrap in good condition?

  • Are the correct brick ties in accordance with salt attack requirements? (Coastal)

  • Are brick ties being installed every 6th course, every stud & every 3rd course next to window/door openings & long runs?

  • Are all flashings in place below bottom plate & above all windows, doors and roof areas (e.g garage) with more than 3 courses of brickwork above?

  • Are weep holes clear of mortar & installed every 5th brick? (1.2m centre max.)

  • Are the cavity and brick ties being kept clear of mortar dags?

  • Are the perp joints full of mortar to the face of rear brick?

  • Are cuts being used to keep perp joints in a plumb line adjacent to openings?

  • Check perimeter for any brick overhang and if present determine cause.<br>Ensure bricklayer is not extending or increasing cavity to avoid cutting bricks.

  • Does brickwork conform with acceptable tolerances for line , level and plumb. Generally +/-5mm over 3 m?

  • Sill clearance under windows & doors. (5mm single storey/10mm double storey?)

  • Ensure common brickwork to front door frames and windows has sufficient clearance off frame and rubber gasket to allow for render.

  • Have steel lintels been installed correctly? (Note: end bearing and have temp.props to prevent sagging.) Mimimal clearance above windows 2mm-5mm?

  • Has brickwork been constructed in accordance with drawings?

  • Has face brickwork been left clean and tidy.

  • Ensure site is left in a neat condition and rubbish placed in accessible piles away from entry and walkways, toilet and power supply?

  • Check for footpath damage.
