  • This CCTV system and the images produced by it are controlled by Broadland Housing Group who is responsible for how the system is used and for notifying the Information Commissioner about the CCTV system and its purpose (which is a legal requirement of the Data Protection Act 1998). Our use of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) adheres to the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998, Human Rights Act 1998, Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 and other relevant legislation.

    We, Broadland Housing Group, have considered the need for using CCTV at this site and have decided it is required for the prevention and detection of crime and for protecting the safety of our staff/tenants. It will not be used for other purposes. We conduct an annual review at each site that contains CCTV.

Justification

  • The problem we are trying to address has been clearly defined and installing cameras is the best solution.

  • Remote access is contained within Broadland Housing Group's main office at NCFC, Jarrold Stand, Carrow Rd, Norwich, NR1 1HU. The recording unit is in the server room which has a coded door lock and is accessible only by the ICT staff.
