Check to ensure no visible signs of damage including frayed cords and tag out if any issues are noted. Under no circumstances should team attempt to fix an electrical appliance.<br>
Off Location Fridges/ Displays

Check for leaks along any fridges.<br>

Check to ensure there is no visible signs of damage to case including Lighting/ Case/ Data strip/ Signage/ Merchandise units.<br>

Check stacking of product on display to ensure no risk of falling off and causing a hazard.<br>
Ladders/ Orange Steps

Check for any visible signs of damage including rubber stops on ladders/ Orange steps in department.<br>

Check that team aren't continuously reaching above head height to get product from shelving.<br>

Check that team don't use ladders on uneven surfaces, don't lean away for ladders/ orange steps while using them and always maintain three points of contact. <br>
Storage Area

Check, remove and tag out any defective shelves that are found. <br>

Check to ensure area is free from trip hazards. <br>

Check that all stored goods including folders are stored correctly.<br>
Trolley Fleet including baby trollies

If applicable check travelator locking mechanism on trolleys.<br>

Check teams stacking of product in trolley. <br>

Check that all fitted child restraints are working correctly.<br>

Check for damage to trolleys including sharp edges. <br>

Chemicals

Check department for non Jasol chemicals and remove incorrect product from department.<br>

Check that the Chemical Safety charts are on display in the department and that the MSDS sheets are in the departments 5 Steps to Food Safety folder.<br>

Check that team have and use PPE as per outlined on the Chemical Safety wall charts. <br>
Kiddies Rides and Vending Machines

Check to ensure that there are no signs of damage to cords, they are not causing a trip hazard and have been serviced in last 12 months. <br>

Check for signage advising that children should be supervised by a parent/ care giver when using the ride.<br>

Check that machine is not damaged in any way which may cause a child to sustain an injury and that machine is not positioned to close to the wall which may cause them to get trapped behind.<br>
Lighting
-
Has the department/ area got adequate lighting to compete tasks or are there blown bulbs?<br>

Check all lights have diffusers (covers).<br>

Check for any damaged/ faulty lighting. Lights only to be changed and fixed by qualified electrician.<br>
Service Desk including Lotto
-
Check to ensure that there are no cords/ goods or equipment on the floor which may cause a hazard.<br>

Ensure that all goods and materials are stored in such a way that they will not fall and cause a hazard.<br>

Ensure flammable material are away from ignition sources eg: aerosols.<br>
Checkouts
-
Check the condition of any mats including anti fatigue mats at checkouts.<br>

Ensure team are taking micro pauses and using drill down buttons.<br>

Check all checkouts for damage including damage to conveyer belts.<br>

Check that the conveyor is working correctly to allow for smooth movement of product. Check bag holders are secure.<br>
Heat/ Cold Temperatures

Check team are supplied with jumpers for use during winter months?<br>

Check team have a water bottle if needed at checkouts for use when temperatures are high. <br>
Foyer
-
Check ramp to carpark to ensure no hazards exist eg: wet/ damaged floor/railing.<br>

Check floor for hazards and that mats are available for front entrance when it is raining.<br>

Check railings on any stairwells/ walls etc for damage.<br><br>
Fire Equipment

Check exits from the department are free from obstructions. <br>

Check department for fire warden arm band.<br>

Check for missing/ damage to signage, mounts and seals. <br>

Check equipment is fully charged and has been serviced in last 12 months. <br>

Check that all equipment including Extinguishers, Hoses, Call Points, signage is visible and accessible. <br>
Baskets

Check baskets including handles for any damage.<br>

Check that all baskets are stored in basket stands or appropriate area.<br>
Lamson Tube

Check to ensure that there are no damage to tube and canisters which may cause injury.<br>

Ensure team are aware to ensure they turn lamson tube off prior to placing hand in machine.<br>
Carton Cutters

Is blade container accessible for safe disposal of used blades.<br>

Check for signs of safe use of carton cutters.<br>

Check department for signs of safe storage of any un-used carton cutters.<br>
Rf Gun

Check safe storage of RF guns in the department.<br>

Check two team members understanding around no pointing laser at peoples eyes.<br>
Dealing with customers and third parties

Have department managers completed the customer accident and food complaints procedures module.<br>

Check all other team are aware to pass these people into trained management.<br>
Emergency Awareness check

Check the visitors book/ emergency procedures flip chart are in place. <br>
