Security

  • Remind trolley personal that they are not to put themselves in danger if they notice anything suspicious in the carpark they are to advise their manager.<br>

Manual Handling

  • Check team are lifting correctly when helping customers, reps etc with shopping / gear or moving trolleys.<br>

  • Check all team are wearing appropriate shoes for the department. (closed toe shoes).<br>

Cap Park surface area, including underground carpark.

  • Check all road markings including pedestrian crossings/ walkways/ speed humps to ensure they are well painted and visible.<br>

  • Check carpark for rubbish including broken branches off trees which may cause a hazard.<br>

  • Check entire carpark for any hazards such as pot holes, damage to curbs which could cause a hazard.<br>

  • Check drains and drain covers for damage. <br>

Team Movement in carpark, including collection of trollies

  • Ensure team are vigilant when using the carpark(s).<br>

  • Check any team collecting trolleys are wearing a hi-vis vest.<br>

  • Check team are wearing any other PPE needed.<br>

  • Check team are aware of max limits when pushing trolleys, 4 without strap and 10 with strap.<br>

Trolley Lift

  • Ensure door interlock is working so team can't enter shaft while lift is up.<br>

  • Check for any damaged to lighting, switches and door.<br>

  • Remind team of the no riding in lift policy.<br>

Garden Area

  • Check to ensure garden is not been used as a walkway, if so re-plant trees/scrubs.<br>

  • Check garden area for over grown/ damaged tress etc which may cause a hazard/ damage to parking vehicles and pedestrians.<br>

  • Check garden area for over grown/ damaged trees etc that may posse a vision problems for drivers.<br>

Lighting

  • Has the area got adequate lighting to compete tasks or are there lights out in carpark?<br>

  • Check all lights have diffusers (covers).<br>

  • Check for any damaged/ faulty lighting. Lights only to be changed and fixed by qualified electrician.<br>

Fire Equipment (Underground Carpark)

  • Check exits from area are free from obstructions. <br>

  • Check for missing/ damage to signage, mounts and seals. <br>

  • Check equipment is fully charged (if gauge fitted)and has been serviced in last 12 months. <br>

  • Check that all equipment including Extinguishers, Hoses, Call Points and signage is visible and accessible. <br>

Clothing Bins

  • Check bin for any sharp edges and damage.<br>

  • Check to ensure that persons can't climb into bin.<br>

  • Check to ensure that bin is not causing an obstruction to vehicle visibility.<br>

Storage Areas

  • Check, remove and tag out any defective shelves that are found. <br>

  • Check to ensure area is free from trip hazards. <br>

  • Check that all stored goods are stored correctly.<br>

Collection of Bio- Hazard Waste including needles.

  • Check team understanding of found needle kit procedures including not touching needles with bare hands.<br>

  • Check team understanding of procedure for cleaning up bio-hazardous waste.<br>

  • Check contents of needle kit (those stores with kits).<br>

Neighbours

  • Check that we are keeping within any council impossed restrictions for the site.<br>

  • Check that we are not impairing on the Neighbours with noise levels and pollution such as rubbish.<br>

Signage Check

  • Check to ensure all listed signage is in place.<br>
