Checking ID

  • Supervisor to check the validity of the ID. The only forms of acceptable ID are: New Zealand photo Driver's Licence, HANZ 18+ card, New Zealand or International Passport showing they are over 18.

  • Supervisor checks ID for Date of Birth

  • Supervisor checks ID for Date of Birth

  • Supervisor checks ID fro picture vs customer - is it the correct person?

  • Where there is REASONABLE BELIEF that the liquor will be provided to a minor, supervisor will refuse sale or request ID from customer's companions.

  • If there is any doubt about any of the above checks and the sale does not proceed, did the operator meet the standard of checking required? if no, Supervisor needs to follow up with operator at next opportunity?

  • Supervisor enters date of birth into POS

  • Supervisor thanks customer
