High Risk Construction Work

  • The Victorian OHS Regulations identify 19 construction activities as High Risk construction work but those relevant to residential construction are:
    • where there is a risk of a person falling more than 2 metres;
    • involving demolition (knock down rebuild, rectification works);
    • involving structural alterations that require temporary support to prevent collapse (rectification works);
    • involving a trench or shaft if the excavated depth is more than 1·5 metres;
    • at workplaces where there is any movement of powered mobile plant;
    If any of the above works are being carried out a site specific SWMS must be completed and kept on site for the entirety of the works.
