Checklist to be completed prior to contract works

  • Have all of the contractor's employees been inducted?

  • Are all of the contractor's employees have signed in?

  • SWMS/ JSA's have been provided and reviewed by Building Management?

  • The contractor was observed to (generally) be working in accordance with their SWMS/ JSA?

  • The contractor was observed to implement good housekeeping practices (for example, work area is free from rubbish and obstructions, company vehicles appropriately parked, electrical leads not causing trip hazards, doors to plant room not propped open etc.)

  • PPE is being used, if mentioned on the SWMS/JSA.

  • If appropriate, are there licences and permits on display on or in the possession of the contractor, for example, electrical licenses, confined space permits etc.?

  • Current Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), within five years from the date of issue, are available for all the contractor’s hazardous chemicals on site?<br>SDSs must include Australian emergency contact details.

  • Are the contractor’s tools and equipment appropriate for the task (as reported by the contractor)? For example, metal ladders must not be used for any electrical work

  • Is the portable electrical equipment tested and tagged exc. battery powered equipment.

  • Is the portable electrical equipment used in conjunction with a residual current device (RCD) or safety switch?

  • Are contractors using their own plant, equipment and tools?

Checklist to be completed after completion of contract works

  • Have all the contractor’s employees signed out of the site?

  • Have the contractor’s employees left the workplace clean, in good order and secure of staff and contractors?
