  • The Store walk is designed to give the management team a quick overview of the store before we enter the busy period of the day. It is there to point out any areas that need attention before our customers spot them. It will give you the opportunity to assign tasks to people as the situation occurs and to identify any trouble spots early.
    Fresh Departments are a priority due the perishable nature of the product and as management you must be encouraged to screen these departments so they are up to scratch early in the day.

External

  • Loading Dock:clean & tidy, bin lids down, no cardboard or rubbish around loading dock.

  • Car Park and Store entry clean of rubbish, cigarette butts, dockets, cobwebs, dirt etc.

Store Entry

  • Windows clean, minimal use of posters, no sticky tape or blue tak.

Grocery/General Merchandise

  • Floor stacks only located in spacious areas areas, minimum width for traffic flow is 1.2 mtrs.

  • All merchandising appropriately displayed, minimal card board exposure, maximum stock displayed and ticketed.

  • Store faced a minimum of twice a week.

  • No stock left on floor unattended or underneath grocery aisles.

Staffing/Security

  • All staff in correct uniform, name badges, cross overs, ties, appropriate clothing and shoes.

  • All unused registers physically closed off.

  • Trolleys have no rubbish, basket cleaning program in effect.

  • Trolleys have no rubbish in them, basket cleaning program in use.

Fresh Departments - Produce

  • Has the department been culled before being filled first thing.

  • Quick tour through deartment, rotation check on highly perishable lines and overstocked items.

  • Have all lines been ticketed?

  • Are current specials appropriately stocked for time of day?

Fresh Department - Meat

  • Cull done and fresh product on show.

  • Markdowns completed.

  • Specials ticketed, 9 up/3up/a5/a/4. Preferred ticket to use on meat cabinet is 3up. 9ups gets lost in the case.

Fresh Department - Deli

  • Department, fresh product on show. culled

  • All lines ticketed, tickets upright, windows cleaned, back area visible to customers clean.
