Pre-Staging

  • Confirm any special floor/wall/dust protection needed with project leader

  • Confirm size of job to determine floor/dust protection quantity

Demo

  • Ensure all floor/wall/dust protection has been installed

  • Establish debris removal plan/collection site

  • Ensure proper safety equipment/details have been identified. (fire extinguisher within 100', evac route defined, first aid kit near work area)

  • Ensure all personal are wearing the proper PPE for the job

  • Ensure Safety Huddle for demo has been completed

  • Re-confirm any vent and drain pipes/chases/wires that have been identified in the pre-job walk are marked for demo purposes

  • Identify any fixtures/appliances to-be-saved

  • Inspect opposite side of walls demo is take place on. Make sure all pictures/fragile objects have been moved.

  • Locate and shut-off all necessary water lines

  • Locate and shut-off all breakers in work area (if necessary)

  • Disconnect and remove all fixtures/appliances

  • Initiate demolition

Post Demo Checks

  • Ensure all debris has been removed and made it to collection site

  • Inspect sub-floor for any water/rot/termite damage that could potentially cause injury. Mark area clearly

  • Ensure all water lines have been capped and do not leak when water is turned on

  • Label all wires and plumbing lines by use and breaker number/location.

  • Ensure all electrical wires have been capped

  • Check all surrounding areas for damage that may have occurred (floors/walls/furniture etc.)

  • Inspect surrounding areas for any potential water leaking or damaged caused during demolition

  • Mark any damaged wires for electrician

  • Mark any damaged water feeds for plumber
