Proficiency Scoring System

  • For each criteria in this Field Verification provide a score from 1 - 5 to indicate the Field Officer's level of proficiency. The scoring system is as follows:

  • 1. Not yet trained/does not understand the task/skill.

  • 2. Has basic understanding of the task, but doesn’t always recognise when task needs to be performed, or cannot to perform the task without assistance.

  • 3. Mostly understands the task but still requires further coaching to operate at the required level. Performs the task when required.

  • 4. Competent – understands the task and completes it every time.

  • 5. Has mastered the skill, could be considered an expert.

Good Performance is

  • Operator avoided interaction with approaching AHT(s) (no AHT stoppages due to trajectory or collision avoidance controls).

  • Dump area is clear of spillage or other items which may cause obstacle detection.

  • Monitor dumping bay for rocks/material that can damage tyres or equipment.

  • Accurate delay records.

  • Maintain dump RL to correct level.

Observation and Assessment of CMW Performance

AHS Operations

  • Does the operator conduct an Alarm Buzzer test as pre of the Pre-start?

  • Does the virtual mine model in the dynamic area, align with the physical mine model. so that the AHT do not pick up obstacles?

  • Does operator survey at least 0.5m to 1m off the dump face, and understand why? Download LiDAR scan of highwall dump to show Dozer operator why?

  • Does Operator know the difference between the “dump plan” and a “dump group? (The dump group is a set of points within the dump plan. Dumps can have one or multiple groups. Multiple groups are used to optimise the throughput / truck allocation via multiple queue and exit points.)

  • Does Operator know the Terrain Colour Conventions for Toe/Crest e.g. Crest is magenta / Toe is dark blue / Coal toe is cyan / Ramps and AMA zone boundaries are orange / Intersection/Road design is yellow / Information zone is white / An active misfire is a yellow zero

  • Are the maximum loads per dump spot set to the correct number? (not defaulted to 3) Let control Builder or field officers know if 3 loads per spot is unachievable

  • Are the trucks cusping in a way that is ideal for traffic flow but also do not "box in" the dozer so that it cannot keep up with pushing material?

  • Is the dump script set to the ideal parameters for the dump? (tray up % and time etc)

  • Does operator communicate with field officer or builder if they need help with dump plane.

  • Are Appropriate virtual Zones in place in dump/floor areas for obstacles such as bunds, lighting plants, delineation, hazards area

  • Operator avoided interaction with approaching AHT(s) (no AHT stoppages due to trajectory or collision avoidance controls).

  • Operator does not clear reverse Object Detection unless they have visually inspected the area

  • Does the Dozer operator know how to set a Dozer Manage Dump Spot.

Dump Dozer Operations

  • Operator checks if there is adequate lighting set-up for night shift.

  • Operator makes sure appropriate zones are in place for all obstacles in dump area (Bunds, Delineation, Hazard areas, no tip zones etc.)

  • Operator make sure dump area is clear of spillage or other items which may cause obstacle detection

  • Oversize material removed from working surfaces by Operator.

  • Operator utilises blade tilt and approach angle for steering adjustments.

  • Is Operator usesing1st gear push with high blade fill.

  • No clutch use while pushing material by Operator.

  • Is the Dozer Operator approaching material at an angle, and ends up square to bund.

  • Dozer operator looks behind before selecting reverse.

  • Dozer operator monitors dumping bay for rocks/material that can damage tyres or equipment.

  • Operator actively monitors Dump for cracking & signs of failure.

  • Is operator pushing dump with a 3% rise, to allow for compaction

  • Are the bund heights at 1.8m and not too high or thick where loads cannot go over tip head and cause script failure?

  • Is the dump to the correct RL

  • Does the dozer operator take action to correct the RL if the dump is low.

  • Does the operator understand the difference between Cat 1, 2, 3 material and the effect it has on dumps and compaction

  • Does the operator know and understand how to reopen dump spot points be topped up?

  • Has dozer been fueled outside of dynamic area and off truck paths to allow trucks to keep flowing in and out of dump?

Floor Cleanup Dozer Operations

  • Operator checks if there is adequate lighting set-up for night shift.

  • Operator makes sure appropriate zones are in place for all obstacles in dump area (Bunds, Delineation, Hazard areas, no tip zones etc.)

  • Does Operator ensure pit/ edge bunding is always adequate and in place.

  • Operator avoided interaction with approaching/ departing AHT(s) (no AHT stoppages due to trajectory or collision avoidance controls).

  • Operator always stays clear of excavator by staying out of swing radius.

  • Operator Cleans floor & push material into excavated pocket, creating a level area from which to doze towards the excavator

  • Does Operator push in straight lines.

  • Operator Coordinate with Load unit operator to ensure no interruption of loading cycles.

  • Operator ensure positive communication with excavator operator for bucket engaged/rest/grounded on the ground before entering the excavator swing radius.

  • Does Dozer operator looks behind before selecting reverse and checks Terrain screen to ensure there is no active permission lanes for approaching AHT(s) before reversing.

  • Operator ensures the toe of the bench/tail is left clean & free from rocks.

  • Operator to actively seek and assist with spillage clean up duties to increase tire preservation and maximise excavator output.

  • operator Provide feedback to excavator operator, as required, to avoid over digging of desired floor RL.
