Scoring System

  • For each criteria in this Field Verification provide a score from 1 - 5 to indicate the Grader Operator's level of proficiency. The scoring system is as follows:

  • 1. Not yet trained/does not understand the task/skill.

  • 2. Has basic understanding of the task, but doesn’t always recognise when task needs to be performed, or cannot to perform the task without assistance.

  • 3. Mostly understands the task but still requires further coaching to operate at the required level. Performs the task when required.

  • 4. Competent – understands the task and completes it every time.

  • 5. Has mastered the skill, could be considered an expert.

  • NA. Not applicable at time of coaching session.

Good Performance is

  • Operator manages time and activities to ensure grading results are optimised.​

  • Monitor's AHT's and 2 way communications, responding immediately to stoppages.

  • Operator understands and adjusts operation of the ancillary equipment to minimise impact to AHT's.

  • Communicates changing AOZ conditions to AH Control, OCE’s or Supervisor immediately.

Field Coaching

AHT Interaction

  • Does Operator approaches intersections with caution/stops for AHT’s, to allow AHT traffic to flow

  • Does the operator know what colour a passable zone is?

  • Operator prioritises and address Passable Zones as soon as possible.

  • Operator reduces length of cut to minimize impact of grading on AHT operation (100 - 150m where required).

  • Does operator know what OUT OF LANE and IN LANE means?

  • Does the Operator understand, when inside the dynamic area (dig and dump floors) that they are always classed out of lane.

  • Does the Operator understand how predicted path works

  • Does Grader operator understand how ( proximity cautions and events) occurred due to predicted path and being out of lane

  • Does Grader operator understand what the Predictive Path Avoidance Stop Buffer is, on the Grader. And what affect it has on AHT.

Autonomous Haulage Grading Behavours

  • Operator creates windrows/rills small enough to prevent AHT obstacle detection.

  • Operator turn's off the windrow/rill giving way to AHT's as necessary (no queued AHT's behind grader).

  • Operator demonstrates correct positive communications with AH Control to apply a lock to AHT (clear object detection & cleanups).

  • Operator does not leave windrows/rills on edge of virtual lanes, or in AHT run tracks

  • Does operator understand what colour fix Zones appear on the TOPE screen, and that they can be machine specific with information provided for job , when avoidance boundary is put into the Fix Zone.

  • Does the operator know how to delete the Fix Zone through the TOPE, once the job has been completed.

Haul Road Maintenance

  • Operator grades in 2nd or 3rd gear.

  • Does Grader operator utilize their Rippers to repair rutting and delamination.

  • Is the Grader operator reclaiming gravel and fines from side of the road.

Summary

  • Detail any CMW feedback received.
