Fire Alarm Activation – Evacuation -Training Scenario Audit

The fire alarm system has activated, 10th Floor. Describe what action you would take. (Trainer will give further information when required as follows: When Officer checks panel will be informed of a Single smoke head, in zone “x”.)....... After 4 minutes the fire alarm system activates on a second smoke head in the same area. A full fire evacuation is now in progress....... Seek and Search Officer confirms a real Fire........ A temp air conditioning unit has caught fire.......

Points that should be considered/mentioned by person undertaking training Level of knowledge 1 to 10 . One being the lowest.

  • Check fire panel for zone and type of activation.

  • Dispatch Seek & Search Officer(s)

  • Use / Operation of fire fighting lifts – (trainer to check)

  • Inform all necessary staff

  • Prepare to evacuate

  • Ensure first aid kits available

  • Ensure grab bags available and ready

  • Contact emergency services.

  • Can demonstrate full fire evacuation procedure together with all points covered.

  • Ensure that all details of the emergency services are taken – Officer in charge / station

  • Can fully operate the fire panel, including silence & reset.

  • Ensure that any necessary photographs and evidence is preserved

  • Accident book to be completed if necessary

  • Daily Occurrence Book fully completed

  • Full incident reports / paperwork is compiled
