Door Leaf(s)

  • Does the door leaf sit tight against the rebate jamb / door stop?

Door Frame

  • Is the door frame free of damage?

  • Rebate jamb / doorstop width (Millimetres)

  • Is the doorframe securely attached to the surrounding structure?

Door Hinges

  • Is there a minimum of 3 hinges with all the screws fitted?

  • Fixings - screws tightly fixed

  • Are the hinges free of metal fragments and oil leakage?

Glazing

  • Type of Glass

  • If NOT Georgian wired glass, is glass etched stating test standards, manufacturer<br>and trade name?<br>

  • Is the glass free from cracks or damage?

  • Is the glass loose? There should be no lose pins or screws.

  • Are the glazing beads in good condition? (No damage, splits, cracks, etc.)

Door Seals

  • Are intumescent strips/cold smoke seals in place?

  • Are the strips/seals continuous around the door leaf or door frame?

  • Are the strips/seals well attached inside the groove in the door leaf or frame?

  • Are brush or fin type seals free from damage?

Threshold Gap

  • Is there a consistent gap under the door that allows it to swing without touching the floor covering?

  • Is the door to floor covering gap consistently 10mm (3mm if smoke seals are fitted) or less when the door is closed?

  • If the door leaf is fitted with a threshold seal, does the seal make contact with the floor covering when the door is closed?

Door Closers

  • Is a door closer fitted?

  • Is the closer free from damage and not leaking?

  • Is the closer securely attached to the door and the frame?

  • Does the door close from any angle, and overcome the latch?

  • If hung in pairs, do doors close in line if both are opened and released together?

  • If hold open device is used, is it electronically released?

Door Latch

  • Is door handle securely attached and operating well?

  • Does the latch hold the door firmly in the frame without rattling?

Kick Plate / Finger Plate in Good Condition

  • Is the kick plate secure and in good condition?

  • Is finger plate / D pull handle secure and in good condition?

Fire Door Signange

  • Fire Door - Keep Shut / Fire Door - Keep Locked

Air Transfer Grille

  • If air transfer grille is fitted, is it to BS 476: Part 22 standard?
