General Fixout Inspection

  • Has the plasterer left site clean and tidy and removed all plaster dags off floor ready for Fixout carpenter.

  • Have the external locks been fitted to provide a secure home

  • Have the entry door lock strikers and latch plates been installed correctly

  • Has a door wind catch or cusion stop been installed on the external doors to eliminate damage to plaster from handles

  • Are the architraves and skirting boards match size and profile as per contract?

  • Have Kitchen window architraves been fitted tight down to benchtop

  • Have all skirting boards been installed? (e.g behind dishwasher space, fridge space, internal robe returns?)

  • Have the skirting boards been properly scribed and mitred and square at external corners?

  • Have architraves been scribed back with no gaps against internal walls where required?

  • Have all architrave mitres been cut neat to 45 degrees , glued, sanded back to produce a flush finish ready to paint?

  • Have all window and door architraves been installed with a consistent even margin

  • Have all window and door architraves been nailed off at approx 400mm spacings

  • Are the doors as per contract? (e.g specials, sizes)

  • Have all internal doors been fitted with suitable gap underneath to suit floor finishes

  • Have all doors been installed to swing the way the plan indicates?

  • Are margins to doors within accepted tolerances.(Head & sides?) (Less than 3mm)

  • Do all doors freely open? (See margins)

  • Are the robe reveal linings installed true and plumb.

  • Have lift off hinges been installed to W.C's, Powder rooms and Bathrooms where required.

  • Have lift off hinge doors been cut down to allow for removal.

  • Do plasterboard and skirting fixings to cavity sliding doors impede the cavity pocket opening?

  • Have top head architraves to cavity doors been nailed on with shorter nails so they don't protrude into track and be visible

  • Have cavity head removable stops been fitted with screws and screw caps.

  • Has the man hole been trimmed out and positioned as per plan and the cover cut and left on site.

  • Are quads installed where a gap is greater than 3mm.

  • Have window frames been packed under mullions to take sag out of the windows before installation of architraves?

  • Have skirtings been fitted to stair landing

  • Have top floor skirtings been fitted hard down to particleboard floorings

  • Have ground floor skirtings been installed with suitable gap for tiles to be installed under

HOUSEKEEPING

  • Has the complete job been swept out?

  • Have all off-cuts been placed in bin/ cage and surplus material neatly stacked in garage.
