  • Forklift Checklist is to be completed at the BEGINNING of each day.
    Forklift drivers are to complete the checklist and email the report to the SHEQ Representative - Tracy Bracken (VIC & QLD) or Nicole Garaty (NSW & ACT)

  • Non-Conformities or Mechanical Issues MUST BE reported IMMEDIATELY to your Operations Manager or SHEQ Representative.

Forklift ENGINE OFF

  • Is the Overall Cleanliness of the Forklift acceptable?

  • ENSURE that you arrange with your Operations Manager to have the Forklift Cleaned.

  • STRUCTURE

  • Is the Overall Structural in good condition, with no signs of damage?

  • Is the Overhead Guard in good condition, with no signs of damage?

  • Is the Cage in good condition, with no signs of damage?

  • Are the Forks (Tynes) and Attachments (If Applicable) in good condition, with no signs of damage?

  • TAG OUT the Forklift Immediately and ENSURE that you arrange with your Operations Manager to have the Forklift repaired.

  • Are all the Chains, Cables and Hoses in good condition, with no signs of wear or damage?

  • TAG OUT the Forklift Immediately and ENSURE that you arrange with your Operations Manager to have the Forklift repaired.

  • Is the Compliance / Data Plates Legible and in good condition?

  • Are the Seat Belts in good condition, with no signs of wear or damage?

  • Are the Tyres and Wheels in good condition, with no signs of wear or damage?

  • TAG OUT the Forklift Immediately and ENSURE that you arrange with your Operations Manager to have the Forklift repaired.

  • SYSTEMS

  • Is the LPG System in good condition, with no signs of damage or leaking gas ?

  • TAG OUT the Forklift Immediately and ENSURE that you arrange with your Operations Manager to have the Forklift repaired.

  • Are all Hydraulic Hoses in good condition, no signs of holes or leaks?

  • TAG OUT the Forklift Immediately and ENSURE that you arrange with your Operations Manager to have the Forklift repaired.

  • Are the Tyres and Wheels in good condition, with no signs of damage?

  • TAG OUT the Forklift Immediately and ENSURE that you arrange with your Operations Manager to have the Forklift repaired.

  • Is the Battery in good condition, with no corrosion and all connections secure?

  • TAG OUT the Forklift Immediately and ENSURE that you arrange with your Operations Manager to have the Forklift repaired.

  • Are the fluid levels in the Battery sufficient?

  • Top up until required levels are met.

TURN ON the Forklift

  • SAFETY DEVICES

  • Are all the Gauges functioning correctly, in good condition and their Labels legible?

  • TAG OUT the Forklift Immediately and ENSURE that you arrange with your Operations Manager to have the Forklift repaired.

  • Are the Lights in good condition, with no signs of damage?

  • Are the Flashing Lights working, in good condition, with no signs of damage?

  • Is the Horn able to be heard by all and working correctly?

  • TAG OUT the Forklift Immediately and ENSURE that you arrange with your Operations Manager to have the Forklift repaired.

  • Does the Reversing Beepers work correctly?

  • TAG OUT the Forklift Immediately and ENSURE that you arrange with your Operations Manager to have the Forklift repaired.

  • Are all the Forklift Controls working correctly?

  • Can you still read the Label on the Controls?

  • Is the Steering direct with no slack in the steering wheel (or lever)?

  • Are the Brakes working correctly (including the Parking Brake)

  • Is the Clutch working correctly with no signs of squeaking or wear AND the transmission disengages easily?

  • FLUID LEVELS

  • Are the fluid levels in the Radiator sufficient?

  • Top up until required levels are met.

  • Are the fluid levels in the Transmission sufficient?

  • Top up until required levels are met.

  • Is the Engine Oil fluid levels sufficient?

  • Top up until required levels are met.

  • Are the fluid levels in the Hydraulic System sufficient?

  • Top up until required levels are met.

  • HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

  • Is the Overall Hydraulic System functioning Correctly?

  • TAG OUT the Forklift Immediately and ENSURE that you arrange with your Operations Manager to have the Forklift repaired.

  • Is there any signs of leaks or holes around the hydraulic connections?

  • ENSURE that you arrange with your Operations Manager to have the Forklift repaired.

  • Is the Lift Function working correctly with no signs of damage or wear?

  • Is the Tilt Function working correctly with no signs of damage or wear?
