Who Can Work on Gas

  • To work on, or install any gas appliance, pipework to boiler and gas meter you must have a valid gas qualification and be registered on the gas safe register. You MUST not work on any of these if you do not have the above. It is your responsibility to ensure your qualifications are renewed before the expiry date and a copy of the ACS certificate forwarded to Smarts Plumbing Specialists so you can be added to the SPS Gas Account with Gas Safe, you will then be issued with a unique Gas Safe Number. You must not sign off any gas installation that has not been fitted by a qualified and GSR registered person. If you do work on gas without a valid qualification you could be dismissed and face prosecution by the HSE.
