Task Compliance
-
Tasks need to be completed as per Kinleith Trailer Gantry Standard Operating Procedure
-
1. Truck & Trailer to be cleaned off in designated area before entering gantry, to ensure minimising of trip hazard in the lifting area.
-
2. Park the trailer so that it is centred lengthwise and positioned under the lifting hook to minimise trailer swing when lifted.
-
3. Attach the lifting hook and release the trailer in a manner that reduces trailer roll.
-
4. Stand clear of the trailer when releasing from the truck?
-
5. Lift trailer clear of the ground, only lift the trailer high enough to allow trailer to be swung and latched, at thevsame time controlling trailer swing.
-
6. Swing the draw bar underneath trailer into auto latch while staying clear and not underneath trailer.<br>AT NO TIME SHOULD A DRIVER BE BENEATH A SUSPENDED LOAD
-
7. Complete lifting operation while standing well clear and to the side to a height that allows sufficient clearance for the truck to be backed underneath the trailer. Trailer should be controlled in the air by guiding by hand while standing clear.
-
8. Reverse under the suspended trailer, ensuring is lined up and without striking the trailer.
-
9. Lower the trailer, position correctly and secure on the truck.
-
10. Disengage hook from the ground if at all possible, if driver needs to access back of the trailer 3 points of contact should be maintained at all times. DO NOT JUMP OFF THE TRUCK.
-
11. Ensure lifting hook is raised to a point that the next truck can pass underneath safely.
-
12. Trailer must be secured to the truck before leaving the gantry area.
-
13. Exit gantry area, giving way to other traffic.
