Scotsman TC180 – Cleaning & Sanitizing Procedure

Empty ice storage bin

Disconnect unit from electrical supply

Close off water supply

Remove Dispense spout & ‘sink’ tray and clean as appropriate then soak in a sanitizing solution until required later in the process.<br><br>

Remove Top, left & right panels.<br><br>

Remove front fascia panel & inspect Pushbuttons for any restrictive operation/ check contact block electrical connections – Fit or replace ‘Membrane Boot’ on each pushbutton as required.<br><br>

Clean Condenser grills & inside machine area<br><br>

Drain Water System at lowest point, reconnecting hose when emptied<br><br>

Prepare De-scale solution at a 10% ratio<br><br>

Refill water inlet tank with De-scale solution<br><br>

Let the water system soak for 10 minutes<br><br>

Run the machine for 5 minutes with solution being manually topped up during this time<br><br>(Note – to operate machine, the water sensor circuit will have to be bridged and the lid switch over-ridden, jump the 2 pins on the pcb to over ride 3 minute standby)<br><br>

Drain de-scale solution from system<br><br>

Rinse water system through, thoroughly with fresh water<br><br>

<br>Inspect internal water distribution hoses, replace as appropriate if discoloured<br><br>

Prepare Sanitizer solution at a 10% ratio<br><br>

Refill water inlet tank with Sanitizer solution<br><br>

Let the water system soak for 10 minutes<br><br>

Run the machine for 5 minutes with solution being manually topped up during this time<br><br>(Note – to operate machine, the water sensor circuit will have to be bridged and the lid switch over-ridden, jump the 2 pins on the pcb to over ride 3 minute standby)<br><br>

Drain Sanitizer solution from system<br><br>

Rinse water system through, thoroughly with fresh water<br><br>

Remote ‘Vane’ motor, storage bin cover & conical plate from inside the bin<br><br>

Wash out the storage bin with sanitizer, check condensate drain point of bin is clear<br><br>

Clean storage bin cover & ice level control lenses & spout area <br><br>

Clean around ice dispense area (‘Polo’) & base of storage bin<br><br>

Re-assemble Storage bin, Vane Motor and spout covers<br><br>

Re-assemble all external panels of unit and wipe down. Test pushbutton for correct operation !<br><br>

Check & replace drain hose with 20mm ID smooth bore if ridged version fitted<br><br>

Clear drain off point under glass ‘sink tray’ with warm soapy water and bottle brush<br><br>

Refit dispense spout and ‘sink’ tray.<br><br>

Change the water filter cartridge (if a filtration unit is installed to the water supply)<br><br>

Run unit for 15 minute’s discard the ice produced purely as a precaution.<br><br>
