Customer handover checklist
Solar Panels
-
- Highlight the neat layout of the panels, either as original plan or improved plan
-
- Highlight that all roof tiles have been replaced, any broken tiles have been fixed, all tiles have been notched to ensure a weathertight seal, and that all tiles are sat correctly with no gaps showing on the underside.

- Highlight that all the DC cabling on the roof has been secured off the roof and under the panels
-
- If any optimisers have been installed, highlight these panels to the customer for their awareness
-
- Inform the customer that all the panels have been secured to the regulatory standards
-
- Let the customer know that you have cleaned down all panels after installation to ensure peak performance
-
- Show the customer that all 20mm holes used for access equipment have been plugged and sealed
External cabling
-
- Mention to the customer that all external wiring has been secured to the latest wiring regulations
-
- Highlight neat and tidy cable runs
-
- Show the customer that all cable entry points have been sealed with with a drip loop to prevent water ingress
-
- If any conduit has been installed externally, ensure the customer is aware of what cables are in the conduit and aware of any risks
Internal cabling and electrical installation

- Show the customer all the internal cable runs either in conduit or surface mounted, mentioning that all internal wiring has been secured to the latest wiring regulations

- Show the customer the electrical components and explain their purpose (Inverter, Isolators, Generation Meter). Also explain how they can isolate the components in event of an emergency.

- Highlight your installation skills

- If batteries are installed explain their purpose and the options available to charge them

- Talk the customer through the inverter display

- Ensure the customer has the right app for controlling their inverter settings
Final handover

Explain customer escalation paths if they need any tech support in the future

- Ask if they are happy with the work you have carried out for them, and if they need you to do anything else for them

- Let the customer know they will receive a customer feedback survey based on the installation visit by yourself and that you'll appreciate them taking the time to complete this for you
