GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING

Is outside work area free from rubbish and obstructions?

is work area free from slip / trip and fall hazards?

Are work benches clean and tidy?

Are cupboards and shelves clean and tidy, fit for purpose?

Are items stacked to prevent risk of falling objects?

Are amenities in a clean and tidy condition?

Are Policies displayed and Weighbridge procedures available?

Are work practices observed during inspection performed safely?

Is there clear vehicle access to and from the car park area?

PUBLIC PROTECTION

Are customer entry requirements and rules displayed?

Is site access controlled?

Is traffic control equipment working (check)?

Are fencing, barricades or barriers fit for purpose and in place?

PERSONAL PROTECTION

Are workers wearing required PPE?

Safety glasses / gloves / sunscreen available for workers?

Are Incident Notification forms available (use for Hazard, Near Miss, Environmental, Injury, Property Damage, General Report, Customer Feedback)?

MANUAL HANDLING

Safe work procedures in place and followed?

Any changes to manual handling that requires a risk assessment to be completed?

Are heavier items stored below shoulder height (below 1.5 metres)?

Is there a safe way to access high shelves (i.e. use of ladder)?

Are stacks fit for purpose and stable?

GENERAL HAZARDS

Are sharp / protruding edges marked to identify hazard?

Are access and exit points accessible, marked and clear?

Is a line of sight (vision) available at corners?

Are ladders / step stool available and fit for purpose (i.e. Australian Standard / not muddy / nothing broken)?

Are tools and leads inspected and tagged?

Are outlets, switch and junction box covers evident and fit for purpose?

Are chemicals stored in accordance with Safety Data Sheet requirements?

Are Danger / Lock Tags available for use?

Are Safety Data Sheets (SDS) available for dangerous goods used in the work area?

Are pest harbourage areas removed (i.e. rubbish / cardboard boxes)?

Have bait stations been checked?

EMERGENCY RESPONSE

Are fire extinguishers / blankets available, identified, tested and with clear access?

Is emergency response information displayed?

Is first aid / warden information current and displayed?

Is a first aid kit available and stocked with in-date items?

SECURITY

Does the security monitor sensor work (check red light comes on with movement)?

Does the security monitor display all cameras in work areas?
