Guidance

  • This Inspection is carried out in line with: A2O COVID Risk Assessment, written in conjunction with Government guidelines and recommendations, as well as the most current SOP revision and our method of works.

  • Encourage workers to stay home if they are sick.

  • Enforce workers to wear face coverings to prevent them from spreading the virus, when working closer than 1m apart should the task require.

  • Continue to use other normal control measures, including personal protective equipment (PPE), necessary to protect workers from other job hazards associated with construction activities.

  • A2O site operatives and main client are operating in accordance with the latest SOP COVID Guidelines?

  • Make available face coverings to all operatives to wear when in meetings on site or for any other reason that they wish, if it makes them feel safer.

  • Encourage respiratory etiquette, including covering coughs and sneezes.

  • Promote personal hygiene. If workers do not have immediate access to soap and water for hand washing, provide alcohol-based hand rubs containing at least 60 percent alcohol.

  • Ensure that A2O communal surfaces are regularly sanitized.

  • Discourage the sharing of tools and equipment. should there be a need to share tools or equipment [including pens], provide and instruct workers to use alcohol based wipes to clean tools before and after use. When cleaning tools and equipment, workers should consult manufacturer recommendations for proper cleaning techniques and restrictions.

  • Keep in-person meetings (including toolbox talks and safety meetings) as short as possible, limit the number of workers in attendance, and use social distancing practices and outdoor spaces if possible.

  • Ensure that client cleans and disinfects welfare and toilets regularly. Hand sanitizer dispensers should be filled regularly. Frequently-touched items (i.e., door pulls and toilet seats) should be disinfected.

  • Ensure that all A2O operatives working in conjunction with A2O RAMS

  • Ensure other operatives are working in conjunction with site COVID guidelines and processes so as not to affect the safety of A2O operatives and staff on site.

  • Encourage workers to report any safety and health concerns.
