VISUAL CHECKLIST

  • Marine grade aluminium

  • Adequate support on galvanised steel brackets minimum 6 mm thickness

  • Adequate supports at not more than 2mt centres and intermediate supports at joints

  • Adequate supports spaced such that the loaded cable tray and ladders does not deflect more than 5mm

  • Segregation of dissimilar metals using 3mm insulating spacers

  • All cable trays and ladder fittings, brackets, bolts, nuts, and washers shall be hot dipped galvanised steel and shall match the cable tray and ladder in use

  • Where cable trays and ladders have been cut or damaged during erection, the resulting exposed metal shall be cold galvanised treated and suitable painted to prevent corrosion

  • Mounted to maintain 300mm clearance between racks vertically and at least 150mm under structural sections

  • Cable ladder earthed to the electrical enclosure they originate from or to a metal structure that is earthed

  • Adequate size to provide 50% spare capacity

  • All ladder bends, both horizontal and vertical shall have a minimum radius of 450mm for power and control cables

  • Cable ladder expansion joints installed as per manufacturers requirements

  • Barrier Strip installed / segregation provided

  • Cables laid in cable ladder and trays, shall be arranged to minimise cross-overs

  • Secured at frequent intervals by means of approve metal cable straps of adequate side and strength for the cables involved <br><br>Cables tied at suitable intervals on ladder

  • All cable ties flush cut to eliminate harp edges

  • Installation neat and evenly spaced

  • Where cables may be exposed to UV or subject to mechanical damage, peaked covers of similar material shall be clamped to the ladder
