AM shift check list

  • Remove night manager sign from front door. Put in daytime sign

  • Print out today's departure list (note down any rooms that need a full or light service, add any extra rooms that may not be on the list already)

  • Check safe for any no shows and check the key card box for early check outs.

  • Change the late arrival safe's code (only Mondays) to the one assigned in the yearly planner, let the team know the new pin and put a post it up in reception for everyone to see.

  • Bring out the till and check it has $300 (make a note in comms of any variations)

  • Check the safe has $1200

  • Read previous handover and night managers notes (if possible, add them in today's handover)

  • VCC CAN NOW BE CHARGED ON THE SAME DAY (no need to write booking vcc on the planner)

  • Double check all check outs bills are balanced and charge any virtual credit cards

  • Make note of any departures that have money owing

  • If pool cover is on, remove. Do strip test and write down the results in the pool folder.

  • Walk around hostel, check kitchen, bathrooms, common areas

  • If weather is good, hang hammocks.

  • Bring surfboards out, check for any damages and correct amount of fins

  • Check pool, empty pool skimmers, if needed add chlorine. Use pool net to clean the top layer

  • Check laundry and start first load (Don't put dryer on until 10 am)

  • In MEWS, check for the pink line of doom (bookings that have not been allocated a room). If there are bookings under the same name, we try to put them in the same room, and then lock the booking

  • Turn on the music in the building at 10am (not earlier)

  • Put night Manager phone on charge

  • All checkouts finalised by 11. Chase up late check outs from 10.30 / Charge $10 to guests that haven't returned keycards.

  • Do a bathroom and kitchen check, put away dishes, replace tea towels

  • Order Lord Linen if needed before 11 am (for next day delivery)

  • Order any cleaning supplies through Bunzl

  • Check with HK how they are doing and if reception is quiet, close reception, take phone and assist them

  • Count till again, to check it matches what it says in cashier

  • When HK finished all rooms, check daily bed and marked cleaned beds in MEWS

  • At 2PM, MEWS should have charged all todays check ins, make a payment request for any "failed to settle", asking to pay before 3.30. Telling them that if not, we will need to cancel .

  • Pass on anything not completed to PM shift employee and make them aware of any important information
