  • External - is the building / site well presented as you approach the venue?

  • Is the main Baa Bar / venue sign in good working order?

  • Are all window neons in working order?

  • Are the relevant promotional posters well situated?

  • Is the courtyard /seating area well prepared and maintained?

  • Are the windows clean and dirt free from the outside and approach to the venue?

  • Provide images of front of venue.

  • Is the general appearance of the external areas towards the front of the venue well presented?

  • Are the areas at the side and rear of the venue well maintained and presentable?

STANDARDS - Entrance

  • Is the door area in good condition, free from dirt and presentable?

  • Does the main door look and feel to be in good working order?

  • As you enter the venue is the passageway clear and free of obstruction?

  • Provide images of entrance to venue.

  • Door security are present, well presented and welcoming to customers?

  • Is the main entrance to the venue secure?

STANDARDS - Bar standing area presentation

  • In terms of 'what good looks like' does this venue look and feel 100%? If not 100% what percentage is it at currently?

  • Floor is clean, tidy and well prepared?

  • Is the bar 'caddy' clean from drips and splashes, fully stocked with straws, mixers & napkins?

  • Is there a staff notice board with relevant and up to date material available?

  • Is the back of house area secured appropriately?

STANDARDS - Managers office

  • Is the managers office clean tidy and organised?

  • Is the safe locked?

  • Is the office free from excess stock, equipment or non valuable personal belongings?

STANDARDS - Cellar / stockroom

  • Is the cellar /stockroom clean tidy and organised?

  • Has the stock been rotated in line with date order?

  • Is the cellar / stockroom free from equipment, rubbish and well light?

  • Examples of good / bad bar preparation?

STANDARDS - Toilets

  • Are the gents customer toilets clean tidy and in good working order?

  • Please provide images of general toilet area.

  • Are the ladies toilets clean, tidy and in good working order?

STAFF -

  • Are there bar staff present

  • Are staff wearing acceptable uniform?

  • Ask for pictures of any staff available and wiling to be photographed.

  • Are the bar staff acknowledging customers as they approach?

  • Is there a staff rota available?

  • Does the planned spend for this week fall in line with the correct percentage of turnover?

SYSTEMS -

  • Was the bar staff member competent in serving the customers present?

  • Are the relevant health and safety policies on display?

  • Have the daily fire checks been carried out today?

  • Are all of the current maintenance issues been logged on intranet?

  • Have all relevant fire and safety training been carried out?

  • Have the safe and cash procedures been carried out?

  • Have all invoices and delivery notes been auctioned and filed correctly.
