Have any new exits that lead to a place of safety been constructed without provision of an adjacent manual call point?

Have any new or relocated partitions been erected within 500mm horizontally of any automatic fire detector?

Are there any items stored which encroach within 300mm of ceilings which might obviate compliance with Clause 22.3(i) of BS5839-1:2017?

Has a clear space of 500mm been maintained below all AFDs?

Has the stimulus that any AFD is designed to detect been impeded in any other way than above?

Have there been any changes to use or occupancy of any area which might make the existing automatic fire detection unsuitable for detection or prone to unwanted alarms?

Have there been any building alterations or extensions which may require additional fire detection and alarm equipment to be installed?

Check and record false alarm records/rates and advise or take any action in respect of such false alarms?

Check fire alarm functions of the CIE by operating at least one device on each circuit (record devices tested in logbook)?

Check that fire alarm signal is given on at least one of above?

Check all controls and visual indicators for correct operation?

Check remote signalling to ARC (fire and fault)

Check ancillary functions of CIE?

Check all fault indicators by simulating fault conditions?

Check printer for operation and legibility?

Check sufficient printer consumables until next service visit?

Report outstanding defects to premises manager/owner?

Complete system logbook

Issue inspection and servicing certificate

Type of signalling?

Test operation of all signalling paths to the ARC?

Adequate battery standby time for a minimum of 24hrs?

Is there appropriate fault monitoring of signalling and PSU?

Check that analogue values are within the specified range?

Check all fire alarm devices for correct operation?

Check that visual fire alarm devices are visible and that their lenses are clean?

Replace any un-monitored, permanently illuminated filament lamps in the CIE?

Check radio signal strengths where applicable?

Check that cabling is secure and undamaged?

Check cause and effect programme by activating at least one cause and observing the effects<br>

Check if standby power supply capacity is suitable for continued service

Check that there is a zone plan adjacent to CIE and any repeaters

Installation work is, in so far as can reasonably be ascertained, of an acceptable standard

Relevant details of the work carried out and faults identified have been entered into the system logbook

We, being currently a BAFE SP203-1 certified Organisation in respect of fire detection and alarm systems, certify that the maintenance work provided complies with the appropriate standard(s) and with all other requirements as currently laid down within the BAFE SP203-1 Competency Scheme in respect of such a system.<br><br>I/we being the competent person(s) responsible (as indicated by my/our signatures below) for the servicing of the fire detection and fire alarm system, particulars of which are set out below, CERTIFY that the said work for which I/we have been responsible complies to the best of my/our knowledge and belief with the recommendations of Clause 45 of BS 5839-1:2017 quarterly inspection of vented batteries/periodic inspection and test/inspection and test over a 12-month period, except for the variations, if any, stated in this certificate.<br><br>Recipients of this certificate of Maintenance are strongly advised to have their system(s) covered by a current maintenance contract with a BAFE SP203-1 Certified Organisation with maintenance included within their scope.

We, being currently an SSAIB 'Certificated Firm' in respect of Fire Detection & Fire Alarm Systems of the type(s) we have identified in Part 4 of the above Schedule, certify that the maintenance work identified in Part 5 of the above Schedule complies with the Standard or Code of Practice identified in Part 4 of the above Schedule and with all other requirements as currently laid down within the SP203-1 Certification Scheme in respect of such a system.
