Section 1: Office Areas / staff amenities

  • There is evidence of good ergonomic principles and practices (refer to Ergonomic checklist on intranet and sharepoint 97-1733).

  • Fire System maintenance completed, records available at centralized location?

  • Fire extinguisher testing up to date? i.e. last check less than 6 months ago, verify 3 extinguishers tags during audit?

  • Access to fire extinguishers, hose reels is clear and unobstructed.

  • Access to emergency exits is clear and unobstructed

  • All exit lighting is illuminated?

  • Pest Control records are up to date (6 months) and available?

  • Area is free from evidence of pests (eg rodent droppings).

  • The work environment (floors, benches etc) is clean and tidy (ie no waste material, spills, dust or items that are not in use).

  • There are no obvious trip hazards?

  • There is no evidence of smoking on site outside the designated smoking area

  • First aid kit is available and evidence of check in past six months?

  • The staff room is in a clean and tidy state with no food scraps being left “lying around”.

  • There is suitable provision for staff to store food brought into the offices, and it is being used.<br>

  • Light bulbs are working, adequate lighting is in place.

  • Electrical items used in hostile environment on site are tested and tagged, and checks are in date. Hostile environment is where an item is subject to operating conditions that may expose the item to moisture, heat, vibration, corrosive substances or dust that is likely to result in damage.

  • All hazardous chemicals have a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) available. The SDS register is available to relevant workers and in date (SDS’s are valid for 5 years). A hazardous chemical means any substance, mixture or article that satisfies the criteria for a<br>hazard class in the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals<br>(GHS) including a classification referred to in Schedule 6 of the WHS Regulations

  • All chemicals are properly segregated, clearly labelled and secured in closed containers

  • Building structures, flooring etc are well maintained

Section 2: Storeroom / Stockroom (s)

  • The work environment (floors, benches etc) is clean and tidy (ie no waste material, spills, dust or items that are not in use).

  • Items are appropriately stored to minimise risks of collapse / fall

  • Area is free from evidence of pests (eg rodent droppings).

  • Fire extinguisher testing up to date? i.e. last check less than 6 months ago, verify 3 extinguishers tags during audit?

  • Access to fire fighting equipment (extinguishers / fire reels) is clear and unobstructed.
