HSM 14. Call point test

• To be carried out at least weekly by one of the Fire Marshalls or Managers. (see HSM 14. Fire Safety & Emergency Planning Policy). Test a different call point every week - and choose a different zone each week.

• You will need a key to operate the call point - different types have different keys - available from the installer or online

• Procedure: To minimise disruption this check is be carried out outside normal working hours, or during working hours at the same day and time (previously notified). If there are any faults then please ask a specialist contractor to replace unit/s or fix the faults as soon as possible. When testing fire shutter doors ensure somebody is stationed next to the door to prevent access during testing.
