  • Before initiating a drill collect the emergency grab bag, NS iPad, emergency medication, visitors sign in, telephone and contact lists.

  • Date & time commenced

  • Lockdown initiated by blowing three (3) shot blasts on the whistle and calling

    This is a LOCK DOWN
    This is not a fire drill
    Everyone is to move to the Turtles room (Toddlers), remain low/seated and keep calm and quiet

  • All children and staff moved in an orderly manner to the TB Turtles room (Toddlers) via either the internal doorways or external toilet door.

  • if not a drill emergency services called (000), if possible keep telephone line open

  • All children and staff are to remain low and out of sight

  • All windows closed & locked

  • Blinds closed

  • Lights turned off

  • Kiosk roll called & all children identified in attendance

  • Staff roll called from Deputy Kiosk

  • Visitor roll called from Visitors Attendance Log

  • Identification of missing children or people

  • Photos of group

  • All clear announcement by responsible person, nominated supervisor or approved provider.

  • This is announced by blowing the whistle for five (5) seconds and announcing 'the lock down has ended, everyone follow the staff in an orderly manner back to your rooms'.

  • Lock down completed

  • Signed by conducting personnel

  • record any details advised by emergency services
