Mini Audit - Electrical

Were there any actions from the previous audit? If so confirm if actions have been appropriately closed - if not chase with the action owner

Is fixed wiring testing carried out every 3 years and is there evidence that actions identified are being progressed.

Is portable appliance testing (PAT) testing carried out regularly (for portable equipment in wet environments this should be at least annually). Any remedial actions are being progressed.

Is annual thermo graphic imaging undertaken of:<br>a) key distribution boards <br>b) cable trays & motors in the roof void, and <br>c) any electrical fittings in association with combustible panels. <br>Have any hotspots identified been rectified?

Is high voltage switch gear is visually inspected on an annual basis and a sample is taken from any oil filled transformers (to check for deterioration in the quality of the oil). Is a power shutdown and thorough examination of the switch gear is carried out every 3 years.

Are lightening protection systems inspected and tested for earth continuity annually.

Is power factor correction equipment (PFC) maintained by a specialist contractor on an annual basis and are records of this are available.

Are IP65 rated industrial plugs and sockets, protected by a residual current device (RCD), used for equipment in wet and external areas.

Are plugs, sockets and wiring are in good condition and electrical control cabinets locked. Are regular inspections undertaken and recorded.

Have electrical duty holder(s) been appointed in writing. Where the main duty holder is not electrically qualified are they are supported by an electrically qualified individual (City & Guilds 17th edition of the IEE wiring regulations & City & Guilds 2391-10 Inspection & Testing course (formerly City & Guilds 2391).

Are records available indicating that all electricians are qualified and have a written assessment of their competence to carry out work?
