  • Is the general cleanliness inside and outside acceptable?

  • Is the plant free from obvious visual damage or missing parts?

  • Are items such as linkages, props, struts, cables and hoses in good order?

  • Are brakes and steering fully functional?

  • Are the wheel/nuts, tyres and tracks intact, securely in place and in good condition?

  • Are fuel, engine/hydraulic oils and coolant levels adequate, with no leakage?

  • Is the item provided with secured special gas cylinders if LPG powered?

  • Are all moving parts protected by fully operational and suitable guards?

  • Is the plant fitted with headlights, indicators, number plates and a horn?

  • Is the exhaust system in good condition?

  • Is the plant generating excessive noise, fumes or other exhaust gases?

  • Safety Requirements

  • Does the plant clearly display all appropriate safe working load (SWL), pressures or speeds?

  • Are all controls including emergency stops, clearly identified and marked?

  • Is the flasher amber beacon visible from 360 degrees and in working order?

  • Does the operator have 360 visibility at a height and distance of 1m around?

  • All edge protection and handrails suitable and secure?
