  • Are loading dock platforms, bumpers and lights in good working order and checked periodically?

  • Are wheel chocks in place and being used properly?

  • Are forklift operators using seat belts, driving at safe speed and using their horns at intersections?

  • Are forklifts inspected on each shift and checklist complete?

  • Are MSDS sheets available on chemicals in the area?

Work Area and Equipment

Electrical

  • Are junction boxes, outlets and switches covered?

  • Are extension cords used as permanent wiring?

  • Are extension cords frayed or taped?

  • Are there any exposed wires?

  • Are all machines properly grounded or insulated?

  • Are high voltage signs displayed where needed?

  • Are electrical panels clear of obstructions?

Housekeeping

  • Area miscellaneous materials (skids, pallets, or totes) stored In a dedicated accumulation area?

  • Are aisles and passageways kept clear of obstructions?

  • Are floors clean and free from anything that may cause someone to slip, trip, or fall. Oil, grease, fluids, water or other slippery substances that are spilled on the floor or work area are cleaned up immediately?
