Pre Plaster Check List

1s Fix Carpentry

  • 1. Have all the FD30 door linings in place

  • 2. Have all door lining gaps been filled with non-combustible materials

  • 3. Have all the floors been repaired with no gaps

  • 1. Have all the partition walls been completed to the underside of the floors

  • 2. Have all the partition walls been boarded on 1 side

  • 3. Have all the partition walls got a fire block noggin installed at the ceiling level

  • 4. Have all the partition walls got sound block materials installed

1st Fix Electric

  • 1. Have all the small power circuits been installed

  • 2. Have all the cables been terminated into a pattress box

  • 3. Have all the cables been tested for continuity, and has this been recorded

  • 4. Where cable passes through a nogging, has a metal protection plate been installed

  • 5. Where cables pass through a 60-minute fire-protected core wall, has intumescent protection been installed (See Fire Safety Strategy Document)

Sub Main Power

  • 1. Have all containment trays been installed

  • 2. Have the sub mains been installed

  • 3. Where cables pass through a 60-minute fire-protected core wall, has intumescent protection been installed (See Fire Safety Strategy Document)

1st Fix Plumbing

  • 1. Have all the cold water and hot water (CW & HW) pipework been installed

  • 2. Have all the (CW & HW) pipework been terminated with a mechanical fitting

  • 3. Have all the (CW & HW) pipework been tested to 1 bar pressure, and has this been recorded

  • 4. Where (CW & HW) pipework passes through a nogging, has a metal protection plate been

  • 5. Where (CW & HW) pipework passes through a 60-minute fire-protected core wall, has intumescent protection been installed (See Fire Safety Strategy Document)

Windows

  • 1. Have all the windows been replaced

  • 2. Has a restrictor been installed on all the windows above the ground floor? The restrictor prevents the window from opening more than 100mm

  • 3. Have all the gaps around the window bee fill with suitable non-combustible materials

  • 4. Have all the window sills (internally) been raised/made good to the correct level?

Roof

  • 1. Has the roof been made weather-tight?

  • 2. Have the roof windows been replaced/repaired/removed

  • Safety Strategy to delete the windows

  • 3. Has the correct insulation been installed between the rafters (See the section drawings)

  • a. Note: it is not a requirement to have the roof windows, and it will benefit the Fire Safety Strategy to delete the windows

  • a. Note: The insulation between the rafter and below the ceiling level must be rigid (Celotex or Kingspan), and the insulation above the roof level has to be Rockwool fibre. See the section drawings)

Corridor walls and Stairs

  • 1. Holes in the walls must be filled with non-combustible materials

  • 2. All structural work must be completed

  • 3. All timber lintels must have 2 layers of 15mm FIRELINE (Pink) boards enclosing the lintels (take before and after photos as evidence)

  • 4. Stairs do not require to be protected as they are within the 60-minute fir protected core

Building Control Note

  • Building Control will also want a copy of the Fire Safety Strategy, and a copy must be on-site for them to view
