Flammable storage

DSEAR Storage of paints and flammable substances

  • 1.0. When not in use all flammable substances are stored in a fire resistant cabinet.

  • 1.0. Oxidisers and corrosives are stored in fire resistant cabinets apart from each other. (Different cabinets)

  • 1.0. No more than 50 litres are stored in the cabinets.

  • 1.0. All substances stored in the cabinet are considered the same substance as the one that has the lowest flash point.

  • 1.0. The COSHH Risk assessment for the products are stored on the cabinet.

  • 1.0. Storage cabinets are positioned away from sources of ignition.

  • 1.0. Supervisor checks of storage cabinets are conducted regulary to ensure compliance.

  • 1.0. The storage cabinet complies with BS EN 14470-1: 2004.

  • 1.0. Flammable substances are removed from trolleys and work benches/tool boxes at the end of shift and stored as above requirements.
