  • What is the designation of the switchboard?

Yearly – Main Switchboards

  • Check Panel Exterior for physical or mechanical damage; touch up paintwork after removing signs of corrosion

  • Check Busbars for visible signs of overheating, loose connections etc

  • Check Phase Balance & Loading and report if phases are unbalanced or overloaded

  • Check switching mechanism on Main Isolator and other major isolators as applicable

  • Check ammeters / voltmeters for accuracy and operation

  • Replace failed indicator lamps as required

  • Check settings of installed protective relays against Switchboard schematic or relevant documents, report any variations for further investigation

  • Check Insulated Phase Barriers and ensure that they are in place and free from contamination

  • Check all neutral, earth and auxiliary connections and terminations

  • Check for presence of moisture; Remove any build-up of dirt or other contaminants, Check that appropriate labels and warning notices are clean and in place

  • Check temperature of board components & connections using infrared thermal gun

  • Check all switches are set on Auto, investigate any switches found on manual

  • Check condition of enclosure, clean as required

  • Complete service report
