What is the designation of the switchboard?
Yearly – Main Switchboards

Check Panel Exterior for physical or mechanical damage; touch up paintwork after removing signs of corrosion

Check Busbars for visible signs of overheating, loose connections etc

Check Phase Balance & Loading and report if phases are unbalanced or overloaded

Check switching mechanism on Main Isolator and other major isolators as applicable

Check ammeters / voltmeters for accuracy and operation

Replace failed indicator lamps as required

Check settings of installed protective relays against Switchboard schematic or relevant documents, report any variations for further investigation

Check Insulated Phase Barriers and ensure that they are in place and free from contamination

Check all neutral, earth and auxiliary connections and terminations

Check for presence of moisture; Remove any build-up of dirt or other contaminants, Check that appropriate labels and warning notices are clean and in place

Check temperature of board components & connections using infrared thermal gun

Check all switches are set on Auto, investigate any switches found on manual

Check condition of enclosure, clean as required
