Energy and Utilities Management

  • Does the site have a rolling 5 year Utilities Plan in place?

  • Is a programme of energy and utilities management services in place for the current year?

  • Does the site have a forecast of energy consumption available and is this updated annually?

  • Is energy consumption for the site reported monthly?

  • Is any erratic or irregular consumption identified and remedial action taken?

  • Are all leaks and other wasteful use of energy or water identified and remedied where appropriate?

  • Is any oil storage undertaken compliant with the law and inspected at required frequencies?

  • Are all energy response plans, absorbent granules, drain covers and spill kits stored near risk areas and appropriately sign-posted?

  • Emergency Response Plan: Can you evidence that responsible staff are trained in the use of emergency equipment?

  • Are up to date drainage plans available for the site?

  • A&E the requirements of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive 2002/91/EC being met in respect of Services and Works onsite?

  • If required, does the site have trade effluent or water discharge consents?

  • Does the site have a system for utility management audits/inspections to improve environmental performance (at least annually at key sites, 5 yearly at others as agreed with the BBC)?
