Are workplaces tidy, free from general combustible waste?<br>I.e Max of 50 ltr of Paints on shop floor, bins/skips overflowing? Etc

Are materials stored safely?<br>-Stored in correct locations <br>-heavy items and liquids not stored above shoulder height

Are extension leads and cables routed safely to avoid trip hazards?<br>Including airlines and paint lines

Are floor surfaces in good condition and pedestrian routes kept clear?

Are steps clear of obstructions and clean?<br>-are handrails securely fixed

Are there adequate welfare facilities?<br>- hot and cold running water, soap and towels, toilet paper, drinking water?

Is PPE in use where required

Are workplace conditions satisfactory?<br>- is lighting adequate (fit for task, working properly)<br>-ventilation (adequate fresh air)<br>

Are ladders / stepladders to the correct standard

Are trestles stable and free from damage

Is the guideline of 16 degrees centigrade maintained?<br>- are thermometers available

Are cable reels fully unwound when in use

Are portable heaters of an approved type (convector or oil filled radiator, <br>Not a fan heater or radiant fire)

Are PAT test labels evident and up to date

Are escape routes & fire doors unobstructed leading to a place of safety

Are fire warnings in place & adequate

Are the fire action posters / signs clearly visible

Is the fire assembly point clearly visible

Are the fire extinguishers clearly visible, signed and not obstructed

Are flammable stores clearly signed & kept secure

Are flammable materials stored away safely after use

Is flammable waste stored away from the building

Are spill kits available and accessible

Are there adequate numbers of first aid appointed persons available

Are all first aid signs clearly visible

Are any chains & slings damaged

Is equipment provided in good order e.g. Trolleys
