Audit Protocol for MG SWP CP6.003

6.1 – Complete anode bed design using MG SWP CP5.003

  • Was MG SWP CP5.003 followed to design the galvanic anode installation?

6.2 – Excavate for anode according to standard drawing S84-4-2

  • Has the trench been prepared correctly for the anodes?

6.3 – Lay anodes flat, head to tail at equal centres, in the trench

  • Have the anodes been laid correctly in the trench?

6.4 – Are these magnesium anode?

  • Are these magnesium anode?

6.5 – Run black anode cables back to test point and terminate

  • Have the black anode cables been run as shown on test point drawings?

6.6 – For zinc anodes, remove about 25mm of insulation from anode tail and header cable

  • Have cables been run as per standard drawing?

6.7 – Make connection with line tap

  • Is there connection with line tap?

6.8 – Wrap connection with butyl rubber insulation tape and lay header cable into trench

  • Has the connection been wrapped and header cable laid in trench correctly?

6.9 – Run anode header cable into test point and backfill trench

  • Have the anodes been installed in natural backfill?

6.10 – Record details on test point database and field test book

  • Have all details been recorded in the appropriate database or form (including field sketch if required)?

6.11 – Register anode with VEC

  • Is the output greater than 250mA? If so, has the galvanic anode been registered with VEC?

6.12 - Finish
