General Visual Condition

  • Is the truck in reasonable condition for it's age. Please note any missing parts/damage to the chassis, side panels, overhead guard, drivers seat.

Functional Test

  • Carry out a functional test inculding forward and reverse drive, all hydraulic functions, all electrical switches/ components, foot brake and hand brake operation.

Battery

  • Check the condition of the battery . Is it clean and in good repair. For lead acid batteries, check the acid level for each cell.

Wheels

  • Inspect the wheels and tyres for signs of wear or damage. Are solid tyres within wear bands / pneumatic tyres to correct pressure?

Mast / Carriage

  • Inspect the mast sections/ carriage, forks and hydraulic hoses for damage. Check mast and carriage rollers for play. Check lift chains for stretch and lubrication.

Transmission

  • Inspect transmission oil level and test operation. Are there any leaks.

Steering

  • Check the operation of the steering. check for wear and correct operation.

Oil levels / Filters.

  • Have the filters and oil been changed at the correct time intervals

Paperwork

  • Have all faults been recorded on the service report and actioned? Has the service been carried out in conjunction with the tick sheet ? Have quotes been sent into office? Has the "Service" sticker been completed & used?
