CHASSIS DEPARTMENT CHECKS - TEST 1 – GENERAL SPECIFICATION

  • Ensure all specification electrical requirements are met

  • Wiring loom installation – ensure location and installation comply with ADR42/04-9

  • - 9.1.1 Wiring must be supported at intervals of not more than 600mm

  • - 9.1.2 Wiring must be insulated at joints

  • - 9.1.3 Wiring must be located in such a position that it cannot become overheated, cannot contact moving parts, nor constitute a fire hazard owing to its proximity to the fuel system.

  • - 9.1.4 Wiring must be protected from chafing.

  • All electrical components and connectors are free of metal filings

CHASSIS DEPARTMENT CHECKS - TEST 2 – GENERAL

  • All earthing surfaces are clean and free of paint, grease, etc

  • All lugs at chassis main earth point under drivers platform are tight

  • All lugs at body main earth point in overhead electrical compartment are tight

  • All terminals are tight and secure

  • No self-tapping screws used

  • Any damaged connectors are replaced

  • A/C main power/ground cables run in nylon conduit on N/side of engine

  • Cables not wrapped around oil, fuel or water pipes

  • Nuts (5) on body power distribution block above chassis main electrical panel are tight

  • Distribution box screw unions reassembled in correct order as per Volvo body building instruction 3-0-10

  • Power distribution box torque settings etc followed as per work instruction SOP-0772

  • Disconnect & reconnect procedure followed as per work instruction SOP-0772

  • Corrosion protection applied to chassis distribution boxes etc as per work instruction SOP-0776

  • Pinch weld fitted at main electrical panel location as per work instruction SOP-0772

  • Note: LED Strip saloon lights will only operate if battery supply is ok or engine is running

  • Test function working (hold switch down for 3secs with park brake on) all led strip lighting should be at 100% intensity.

  • Light intensity is able to be adjusted through C90+

  • When front or rear door open lights change to 100% intensity with engine running

  • Warning message displayed on C90+ display when any hammer is removed

  • Red hammer removed warning symbol on C90+ display illuminates when any hammer is removed

  • Ignition on, park brake released, drivers cab door open or engine not running, audible park brake removed message: “Parkbrake is not activated, please activate parkbrake” is activated.

  • Ignition off and park brake released audible message: “Parkbrake is not activated, please activate parkbrake” is activated.

  • Master switch off and park brake released audible message: “Parkbrake is not activated, please activate parkbrake” Note: Message can be activated for 1 hour after master switch is turned off.

  • Volvo warning buzzer will be activated when ignition is off and park brake is not applied

  • If the ignition is on, the engine is running, the cab door is closed and Park Break released; the Park brake warning should not be activated.
