TEST 01 DOOR SYSTEM

  • Doors will only operate from driver’s door buttons if either the park brake or foot brake is applied.

  • Front door opens and closes from driver’s door control panel

  • Centre door opens and closes from driver’s door control panel (when centre door is specified)

  • Driver's door buttons will not operate when vehicle is above 0km/h

TEST 02 DOOR 'MAINTENANCE' OVERRIDE SWITCH (Located on shelf plate/Body ECP)

  • The door alarm warning buzzer will pulse every 3 seconds when door 'maintenance' override switch is on

  • Red warning light in driver door control panel pulses every 3 seconds when door 'maintenance' override switch is on

  • No brake & throttle interlock operation when door override switch is on

  • Front door opens and closes from driver’s door buttons if override switch is on

“Door override switch is on”

  • With door override switch on, message displayed on C90 driver display : (route bus only)

TEST 03 - DOOR SAFETY SYSTEM EBS FAULT DETECTION

  • Door alarm lights and buzzer sound when chassis EBS fault occurs

  • Volvo chassis – Disconnect foot pedal potentiometer under drivers platform

  • "Scania K-UB / K-IB chassis – Remove chassis fuses 11 & 12 to introduce fault.

  • Scania K-LB / K-NB (NBG) chassis - Fuse 64,65."

  • MAN chassis – Remove chassis relay K361 to introduce fault.

  • BYD chassis – Remove 3 out of 4 connectors on BYD EBS ECU to introduce fault. Leave power connector connected. Note: EBS fault symbol and alarms only reset after restarting the bus.

TEST 04 – DOOR 'EMERGENCY' OVERRIDE SWITCH ( located on DASH/SIDE CONSOLE).

  • Door alarm lights will flash and buzzer will sound every second when the switch is held down

  • Brake & throttle interlock will be overridden when switch is held down

TEST 05 – DOOR SENSITIVE EDGE TEST USING TEST ROD

  • Safety system checked at three positions using test rod

  • RESULTS – FRONT DOOR - Door reopens with 35mm solid rod on the door step

  • RESULTS – FRONT DOOR - Door reopens with 20mm solid rod at 750mm above step

  • RESULTS – FRONT DOOR - Door reopens with 20mm solid rod at 1500mm above step

  • RESULTS – FRONT DOOR - Door reopens with 20mm solid rod on Random height

  • RESULTS – CENTRE DOOR (ROUTE AND ARTIC ONLY) - Door reopens with 35mm solid rod on the door step

  • RESULTS – CENTRE DOOR (ROUTE AND ARTIC ONLY) - Door reopens with 20mm solid rod at 750mm above step

  • RESULTS – CENTRE DOOR (ROUTE AND ARTIC ONLY) - Door reopens with 20mm solid rod at 1500mm above step

  • RESULTS – CENTRE DOOR (ROUTE AND ARTIC ONLY) - Door reopens with 20mm solid rod on Random height

TEST 06 – EXTERIOR & INTERIOR EMERGENCY EXIT BUTTONS

  • All emergency exit buttons allow door to be manually opened & closed independent of main switch position.

  • Door alarm buzzer& light should also active with ignition on.

  • Emergency exit buttons will not operate when a vehicle exceeds 5km/h

TEST 07 – DOOR SENSITIVE EDGE

  • Front door re-opens if electric edge is activated when closing

  • Front door reopens if door leaf is obstructed when closing

  • Front door stops moving if door leaf is obstructed when opening

  • When the door stops, next operation of driver’s front door button will reopen the door

  • When the edge or obstruction detection has been activated, the system shall reset by further application of the driver’s front door control button

  • Door alarm buzzer sounds when front door is obstructed

  • Front door alarm warning light activates when front door is obstructed

  • Center door re-opens if electric edge is activated when closing (when center door is specified)

  • Center door reopens if door leaf is obstructed when closing (when center door is specified)

  • Center door stops moving if door leaf is obstructed when opening (when center door is specified)

  • When the door stops, next operation of driver’s center door button will reopen the door (when center door is specified)

  • When the edge or obstruction detection has been activated, the system shall reset by further application of the driver’s center door control button (when center door is specified)

  • Door alarm buzzer sounds when center door is obstructed (when center door is specified)

  • Center door alarm warning light activates when center door is obstructed. (when center door is specified)

  • Center door sensor test completed using dowel JOX400010/JOX400011 (when center door is specified)

  • Front door sensor test completed using dowel JOX400010/JOX400011

TEST 08 - DOOR BUZZERS

  • Front door buzzer beeps once each time the front door is opened or closed

  • Front door buzzer sounds constantly when the front door emergency exit button has been pressed (I.e. Emergency Mode)

  • Front door buzzer beep when there is an entrapment at the front door (I.e. Sensitive Edge or Obstruction detected.)

  • Center door buzzer beeps once each time the center door is opened or closed (when center door is specified)

  • Center door buzzer sounds constantly when the center door emergency exit button has been pressed (I.e. Emergency Mode) (when center door is specified)

  • Center door buzzer beep when there is an entrapment at the center door (I.e. Sensitive Edge or Obstruction detected.) (when center door is specified)

  • Center door buzzer pulses every 1 sec when the center door is closing (when center door is specified)

TEST 9 - WORKSHOP BUTTON

  • Pressing the front door workshop button once will open/close the front door

  • Pressing and holding the front door workshop button will allow the doors to automatically cycle and calibrate the doors.

  • Pressing the centre door workshop button once will open/close the centre door (when centre door is specified)

  • Pressing and holding the centre door workshop button will allow the doors to automatically cycle and calibrate the doors (when centre door is specified)

TEST 10 – PARK BRAKE ROLLAWAY WARNING SYSTEM

  • With master switch ON - Front door can only be closed externally if park brake is applied

  • With master switch ON - With park brake released and drivers cab door open, audible park brake removed message: “Handbrake is not activated, please apply handbrake now”

  • With master switch ON - Door Alarm warning buzzer sounds

  • With master switch ON - Door Alarm warning light activates

  • With master switch OFF - Front door can only be closed externally if park brake is applied

  • PARK BRAKE CIRCUIT - Center door can only be closed externally if park brake is applied (when center external closed button is specified)

  • Note - Green external close button will also open the door with Master switch on and ignition on. - With park brake released and drivers cab door open, audible park brake removed message "Park brake is not activated, please apply park brake"

Additional Tests

  • Front Door Independent Leaf - Pressing independent leaf button will open/close the front leaf of the front door (when ind. leaf is specified)

  • Drag Entrapment - When doors have just been closed, triggering the sensitive edge will reopen the doors and the brake interlock will apply, provided vehicle is not over 5km/h

Door Alarm Faults - Door Alarm and Buzzer will sound WHEN there is a fault with the door system as following functions.

  • A - FMS CAN line disconnected

  • B - Chassis CAN line disconnected

  • C - Door Minor Error Mode - Doors can still be operated - No load of at least one sensitive edge, Door CAN lost when Ignition is OFF, Door potentiometer position is too high or too low.

  • D - Door Major Error Mode-Doors cannot be operated to test Door position sensor faulty, Door CAN lost when Ignition is ON, Vehicle Speed Error, DC Motor Open Load / Short Circuit, Actuators Valve Open Load / Short Circuit
