Pre start up warning system

Safe working rules

  • All guards are in place on all running conveyors?

  • Are hot work permit and permit to work obtained before any welding or cutting work on conveyor?

  • Are emergency stop systems (trip wire, emergency stop devices) are not used as isolators?

  • Are employed informed not to wear loose clothing, jewellery or not having loose long hairs when working near conveyor belts

  • Is a fire watch always maintained when welding near conveyor?

  • Nobody enter or bog out conveyor feeders or feed chutes while the conveyor is running?

  • Are conveyor access, walkways, stairs or ladders clean and tidy?

  • Nobody touch moving belts or roller with an implement?

  • Nobody walk under a loaded moving conveyor that does not have a covered access?

  • Is a warning signs placed and fence off the area if working overhead?

  • On start up is everybody working on the conveyor or feed conveyor or associate equipment notified?

  • Before start up the conveyor is inspection conducted to ensure no visible damage on the belt, nobody working in the chute and emergency stop devices operating

  • Do proper actions taken when found a tear on the belt as outline in the procedure

  • Do proper action as outlined in the procedure taken when cleaning off scraper materials

  • Do procedure followed when installing blade on the head pulley scraper
