Mining driving permit

  • Are only site licensed drivers considered for mining driving permits?

  • Does the mining manager approve all driving permits?

  • Are annual theoretical and practical tests conducted prior to the issue of a driving license?

  • Are mining driving permits issued after attending mining induction and are color coded to make sure old licenses are clearly obsoleted?

  • All vehicles driven in the mining areas have required features as stated in the procedure?

  • Are light vehicles not overtaking moving heavy vehicles except (when operator has indicated it is safe to do so)?

  • Is water truck watering the working areas with a frequency to achieve sufficient dust suppression in all working areas in the mine?

Driving rules in mining areas
