A confined space permit has been completed by an authorized person and that permit has been posted at the entry point.

Use appropriate communication methods in order to ensure that the attendant and the authorized entrant are in constant communication.

Ensure that the attendant never leaves the entry point, keeps unauthorized personnel away, and maintains atmospheric hazards. Inspect that the attendant and the entrant are properly trained and have EAS Training Card on person.

Ensure that the air monitoring system has been calibrated.

The air is continously monitored at all times. Especially when new atmospheric conditions are being introduced into the space.

Inspect for additional hazards inside of the space not protected. This includes engulfment, entrapment, slips/falls, electrical hazards, noise hazard, burns, and chemical exposure.

Entrants into the confined space have the correct level of PPE.

Visually inspect area for a fire extinguisher located inside the space.

Inspect that the entrant is properly attached to the rescue equipment and that the attendant has the knowledge and ability to rescue.

Place barricades around the entry to protect others from entry.

Ensure that adequate illumination is inside the confined space.

Ensure proper ventilation for combustion type activities inside the combined space.

No smoking is permitted outside of the confined space.
